GuestI’ve been putting in the hours when it comes to studying, but it honestly feels like I’m just going through the motions. I read everything, sometimes even twice, and still forget most of it the next day. It’s frustrating because I’m trying, but the results just aren’t there. Has anyone else dealt with this and actually found something that works?

GuestYes, I’ve had that exact feeling. It’s like you’re busy, but not productive. I used to think I just needed more discipline, but that wasn’t really the issue.

GuestI was stuck in that same cycle for a while until I realized I wasn’t engaging with the material in the right way. Instead of just rereading, I started looking into different approaches to active recall and memory techniques. At some point I came across something useful and thought, check this out, this page really helped me figure out what I was missing. It shifted my focus from passive reading to actually testing myself and building mental connections. Once I made that change, studying felt more intentional and I finally started remembering what I learned.

GuestHey, I’ve run into the same issue when I was spending a lot of time reading but not really retaining anything, and it started to feel like the effort wasn’t translating into actual progress. What helped me was changing how I reviewed material rather than just repeating the same approach, and at one point I used view tool to turn my notes into smaller, structured flashcards that were easier to revisit regularly. That made it clearer which parts I actually understood and which ones needed more attention, instead of passively rereading everything. Over time, this shifted my routine from just going through the motions to something more targeted, where each session had a clearer purpose and better retention followed naturally.
