Hi all! I’m debating between leather and wood for our new menu covers. We are an upscale steakhouse and I want something that feels premium. Does anyone have experience with both? I’m mostly curious about which material holds up better against spills and heavy handling.

In my experience, wood gives a very rustic and sturdy feel, while leather feels a bit more classic and sophisticated. I actually use a mix of both from the Inko Horeca studio. For our main menu cover for restaurant needs, we chose their premium leather because it is incredibly resilient against stains. If a guest spills wine or grease, you can just wipe it right off without any permanent damage. Wood is great too, but you have to make sure it has a high-quality finish so it doesn’t absorb liquids. Personally, for a high-end feel, the tactile experience of leather is hard to beat. It just feels more luxurious in the guest’s hands.
