I’ve been practicing ukulele for a while now, and I feel like my biggest problem is switching between chords smoothly. I can play them separately just fine, but when it comes to real songs, everything falls apart. It either sounds choppy or I lose the rhythm completely. I’m trying to find songs that are not too hard but still good for practicing transitions in a more musical way. What worked for you?

Timing between chords can be a problem for begginers. What helped me was repeating one song instead of jumping between many. For me it was somewhere over the rainbow ukulele . The chord changes are steady and predictable, so you can focus on smooth movement rather than speed. I used to slow it down a lot and just loop small parts until it felt natural. Over time it really improved my transitions.

Jumping between songs didn’t really help, but sticking to one progression and repeating it slowly made a difference. I also tried not to rush the change and focused on landing the next chord cleanly, even if it meant breaking the rhythm a bit at first. After some time, the movement just became more automatic.
