Hi! I have some coat hooks I have finished with iridescent pigment (using the tack-it method. I need to coat them with something to make them durable. I tried clear spray of various kinds but it wasn’t hard enough. I want to try a resin that is thin enough to brush on a very thin coat. I have only used resin for pouring over flat surfaces and casting before. I tried the Art n Glow casting and costing resin on some
Sample sculpture and it was too thick.
I also want something that will not reduce the iridescent effect too much!

Any ideas? I prefer epoxy but I could do a UV if really necessary.

Obviously with these hooks I will also have to do one side at a time.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

      Hi Katie,

The problem here is that thinner resins aren’t going to adhere to your hooks very well and will leave voids.

Oh darn. What kind of resin would you suggest in that case? A doming resin?
