Has anyone tried Bondo for castings? How did it go? I love the quick setting, clear glossy finish, and hardness of the polyester resins, plus its forgiving nature when not mixed 100% precisely. My problem is finding them. The hobby stores that sold it have closed down in our state (Hawaii). Shipping costs to Hawaii, if you can get it here at all, are horrendous because it falls under a hazardous material category. I may have found some marine supply stores that sell clear casting polyester resin (smaller quantities without the haz. material fee) but haven’t called them yet. Bondo looks to have the qualities I’m looking for and uses a very similar catalyst, plus it’s available at our local Walmart, about a mile away. Anyone?
