I’ve been making coasters and running into a problem. I keep getting divots on the surface of my coasters (where the cup will sit) . I’ve noticed my molds getting bumps in those spots and I can’t figure out why. They aren’t there when I buy them and they don’t wash off.

I’m wondering if your resin is overheating. Are you using a heat source to go over your coasters?

I’ve been having a similar problem with a small (1″ approx.) earring mold. Although the mold appears to be smooth itself, each time I unmold I see bubbles (divots) appearing in the same exact spots. I do use a heat gun and alcohol, but could I be making it worse on such a small mold?
