Can I use a plastic tray as a resin mold?

      This question comes from Gladys:

      It is my hope to create an oblong paperweight/display(he will end up with 4 of these that houses approx. 4 of my sons hockey metals I purchased Clear Polyester Casting Resin and the catalyst. I was planning on using a plastic tray from the dollar store. Does this sound like it would work?

      Hi Gladys,

      The plastic tray needs to be very flexible and ideally made from polypropylene. Even then I would still recommend using a mold release.
