I have an old Ikea gooseneck lamp that broke from over twisting. The gooseneck part is removed and now I have the small metal shade and the wires and I want to make a lamp from it but the thing gets very, very hot. I have Aluminite Amazing clear cast. Will it stand up to the heat? If not, can I put the lamp in wood as an insulator and cast around it? Or any other thing that might help?
I would expect the resin to get soft with that much heat. The wood would help with insulation, but I still don’t know if resin on top of it would soften or not.
