A friend had M&M’s made for her daughter’s wedding. She used the bride’s color scheme, with a bride-and-groom picture on some, and the wedding date on others. I’d love to put one of each in some kind of resin mold, so I need to ask: Does sealing food with resin make it impervious to decay? Thanks.

      Hi Cheri,

I haven’t used M & M’s in resin, but when using other candies, it did eventually rot. If you want to try, you should seal them with resin gloss sealer spray first. You can find it in our store here:

Thanks, Katherine. I do want to try it. Can I use the same resin to seal them that I am using for the base, instead of the spray?

Hmm. I haven’t tried that with M & M’s. I worry that the resin will make the colors run from the heat of the resin/hardener mix. If you try this, would you mind letting me know how it goes?
