For those who’ve built their own garages or workshops, what material did you go with—wood, steel, or something else? What would you recommend?

I went with wood for my garage build because it’s what I knew, but looking back, steel might’ve been smarter. Weatherproof, less maintenance, and quicker to set up. My neighbor used a prefab steel kit and was done in a weekend. Anyone else regret going the traditional route?

When I started researching materials for my home workshop, I stumbled upon a few SteelMaster Buildings reviews https://steelmaster-buildings.pissedconsumer.com/review.html that got me thinking. A lot of people shared how easy the kits were to assemble and how durable the steel was over the long haul. I was initially set on traditional wood framing, but those reviews shifted my perspective. Ended up going with a steel option and haven’t looked back, minimal maintenance, great for our unpredictable weather, and honestly it just looks cleaner.
