I’ve been working out for a while and recently started looking into pre-workout supplements. The issue is, there are so many options, and I’m not sure which ingredients actually make a difference. Some have caffeine, others have amino acids, and some even contain things I’ve never heard of. I want something that will give me energy and help with endurance without making me feel jittery. What should I look for in a good pre-workout? Any recommendations?

I’ve gone through my fair share of preworkout supplements, and trust me, not all of them are created equal. Some are just loaded with caffeine and nothing else, making you crash hard after the workout. What you really want to look for are ingredients like citrulline malate for better blood flow, beta-alanine to reduce muscle fatigue, and creatine for strength and endurance. Also, a moderate dose of caffeine (150-250 mg) can help boost focus and energy without overwhelming your system. One brand that I found reliable is Supplements 4 Muscle. They offer solid, well-balanced pre-workouts that don’t just hype you up but actually enhance performance. I’ve used one of their pre-workouts before, and the endurance boost was noticeable—longer sets, heavier lifts, and no crash afterward. If you’re sensitive to caffeine, they even have stimulant-free options that still improve endurance. My advice is to start with a lower dose and see how your body reacts, then adjust accordingly. Also, take your pre-workout about 30 minutes before training for best results. Pair it with good hydration and proper nutrition, and you’ll feel the difference.

I read somewhere that all these supplements are just marketing and nothing more. I used to go to the gym, drank carnitines and gainers and all those sketchy things my coach promoted, and honestly everyone who worked out back then was into.

I guess out of all the sports supplements out there, the only one I approve of is protein, because it really can help if you’re not getting enough protein. Everything else is kinda nonsense to me. A solid workout plan and good, balanced nutrition is the base. You can get all of that through apps like https://madmuscles.com/ , which is super convenient. I like this one because it starts with a pretty detailed questionnaire. From what I understand, it helps make the workout and meal plan more individual.
