How can I create the effect of water depth with resin? I am pouring a Lake depth map and would like to have the blues get darker as the lake gets deeper. Is there a resin and color mix combination that will show deeper blue as the pour gets deeper?

      Example: “Curae” https://www.curae.ca/

      Hi Adam,

If I were to try a project like this, it would use one or two resin colors (these will work well — https://shop.resinobsession.com/collections/liquid-colorants/products/resin-obsession-transparent-color-pigments-single-1-ounce-colors ). Then mix your resin, divide it into several cups and vary the amount of color you get to vary the hues of the ocean colors.

Do you think they are pouring multiple colors of blue to get the different effect of depths? Is there a product that creates the illusion of depth by just the thickness of the resin. Example: thin resin is light blue and the more resin you look through it gets darker blue just like water.

This pour videos from their website seems to show one pour that creates that depth effect.

What resin and blue would create this effect? My project is almost 1 inch thick so it should be a deep cast material.
