Hello,
I would like to start making ball shaped, dandelion paper weights as seen on this website http://www.dandelionpaperweights.com. Can you please advise exactly what I need to purchase from your site as I am a beginner (I do not want to purchase unnecessary products and it is difficult knowing what to order because I am new to this). Thank you. -

Hi Vanessa,
You are going to need a few items to get started:
First, I would recommend the Resin Obsession super clear resin. https://www.resinobsession.com/ItemPage/5503/ResinObsession-SuperClear-Resin-6-oz—jewelry-quality-resin.html It is meant for use in molds and almost never has a problem trapping bubbles, especially if you are careful about mixing.
You will need a mold to put the dandelion in. We have two sphere molds, the larger being 1 inch in diameter. https://www.resinobsession.com/ItemPage/9011/Resin-sphere-mold-1-inch.html If you need one larger, you will have to consider making your own. If you only want half sphere molds, we have some in larger diameters here: https://www.resinobsession.com/Round-Molds.html
Some basic tools, like mixing cups, gloves, and stir utensils are also important. You can find them in our tools category. https://www.resinobsession.com/Resin-Craft-supplies.html
Of course you will need dandelions. I havent personally done this technique, but you will need to be careful about placing the dandelion in the resin so you dont disturb the feathers. You may even want to consider coating it with a layer of our resin gloss sealer spray to give it some strength. https://www.resinobsession.com/ItemPage/5510/CastinCraft-Gloss-Resin-Sealer-Spray-760-UPS-Ground-Shipping.html
Good luck!

Hi Vanessa
We too are hoping to have a go at this process, however we are using a Ortho polyester resin since our supply is ex stock.
We got the tip of “picking green” not quite open Dlions and then gently pull back on stems as dipping in the resin! Definitely a technique to practise. Please post results here though. 😉
Cheers Chris
