I noticed some magazine subscriptions still offer rewards points or gift cards for signing up. Are these programs worth it anymore, or just gimmicks? I remember getting free coffee vouchers back in the day. Curious if anyone’s still using these perks or if it’s all gone digital now.

I subscribed to a gardening magazine last year mainly for the content, but they threw in a free tote and a discount code for a seed store. Not game-changing, but a nice touch. I think niche mags still try to sweeten the deal to keep readers engaged.

I recently re-subscribed to a UK travel magazine that was offering bonus loyalty points through mymail nectar https://mymail.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html . The sign-up process was quick, and I got the first issue plus some Nectar points just for linking accounts. It’s not a fortune, but I used the points toward groceries later that month. What surprised me was that they still push these kinds of programs, and it actually nudged me to give print another try. I think for people who already use Nectar, these offers can be a small bonus, especially if you enjoy flipping through a physical magazine on a quiet Sunday.
