Someone wanted me to make them an ornament to hang on their car’s rear view mirror, but I was wondering if an epoxy resin ornament would hold up in a car in freezing cold winters or hot summer times. I don’t know if they’ll leave their car outside or keep inside a garage either, or if that would even matter. And also, do epoxy resin ornaments hold up as garden ornaments? …thanks for any info.
How great that you are thinking about this now, before someone gets the ornament and something happens.
Knowing this, I would use a polyester or polyurethane resin. They cure very hard and I have not had a problem with them getting soft with heat. These resins would also be suitable for outdoor ornaments, but know that the UV light exposure is going to make them yellow faster than normal.
