I have never used resin before, but want to try it to encase a sentimental fortune cookie paper. I am concerned that the paper might soak up the resin and become nearly transparent. I plan to do some test runs with other old fortunes, but wondered if there is a best resin type to buy for use with paper products?

Papers will soak up mositure with any resin if not sealed properly. We have an article on how to do that here:
