Hey there! just throwing this out there to hopefully help me troubleshoot a problem of stuck resin I’ve been having.

I have been mixing my epoxy with a calcium carbonate filler and pouring 2cm thick casts. My moulds are made from melamine and sealed with a silicone sealant around all the edges. It sets perfectly fine/very hard after about 24-48hrs. Once set however I have been struggling to de-mould from my melamine sheet. I’ve tried using various epoxy mould releases including paraffin and wax ones, but it still gets stuck grrr. I think the problem is caused by the silicone, because I can remove the sides of the mould fine, but the base gets stuck. It’s almost like the silicone around the bottom edges creates a suction between the base and the melamine. It’s just so hard to chisel off from the base.
