Hi, does anyone have any experience with using a power tool like a Dremel and carving a resin work from a resin cube, or now if it’s possible?

Reason I’m asking is because someone asked me if it was possible to make a 3D jellyfish with all the small threads and such, which I couldn’t find any molds for, nor think you would be able to create any particularly good molds for, either by imprinting or carving a mold.
So got me thinking if it was possible to carve sculptures from a resin block.

      Hi Victor,

You could, but I don’t know that using a resin block would be the easiest way of doing this.

If it were me, I would either 3D print one or carve one by hand from wax. With either of those models, you could create a mold and make many jellyfish with resin.

In my experience using a Rotary tool such a dremel or pedant motor if used to carve wax can cause the wax to melt and melt onto the burr.
