Hello, I found a naturally deceased butterfly in my garage. I have a pair of reversible butterfly wings in clear coated resin that are my treasured purchase from my husband. I’m fairly artsy and would love to coat these butterfly wings the same as my other pair myself (different type of butterfly) . Can you tell me or direct me to the best method for this. I did watch your lamination Technique but am wondering specifically about the encasing them free form with out an actual mold.? TIA your site is amazing.

      Hi Kim,

Thanks for the kind words. 🙂

You can try laminating them in the shape you want, then use a doming resin to go over the shape. The Resin Obsession crystal doming resin works great for this. You can buy it here: https://shop.resinobsession.com/collections/resin/resin-obsession-crystal-doming-resin

Use the same technique of drawing the resin to the edge like what I show in making this domino pendant: https://www.resinobsession.com/resin-tutorials/domino-resin-pendant-tutorial/
