      Hi,
I’m coating a 3ft 2×8 plank in Glaze Coat Epoxy Resin (by Famowood). I built a rectangular mold slightly larger than the plank so it will be encased in resin. About 1/4” on the sides and 1/2” covering the top. The directions for this product say to only pour it in 1/8” increments with 4 to 5 hrs between pours. Can I get away with just one pour? The thickest the resin will be is no more than 3/4”.
I did buy better resin from your site for a different project. 🙂 Just trying to use up the Glaze Coat to make a fancy number sign for the front of my home.
      -Thanks,
      Eric

      Hi Eric,

This sounds like a great project! Because Glaze Coat is a doming resin, it should only be poured in layers no deeper than 1/8 inch. While you can pour the resin deeper than that, it will hold onto bubbles because the layer is so thick. I explain more here: https://www.resinobsession.com/resin-frequently-asked-questions/doming-resin-casting-resin/

      Hi,
Thanks so much for your quick response.:)
This makes sense and means I can save my mold for a casting project.
      Take Care!
      -Eric
