Hi Katherine, this is going to sound strange, but I have a “dirt” sample I collected from a vacation few years ago and would like to embed it into a cube of clear resin for display. How would I go about doing that so that it looks good?

      Hi Dustin,

I would recommend pouring in layers. Add in your dirt/sand to your mold, then add in enough resin to just cover the mixture. Sand won’t mix with resin, but I don’t know about dirt. Let the first layer mostly cure before you pour the resin. By pouring in layers, it will keep your dirt mixture on the bottom and should keep the other layers clear.

You should also know things are going to look ‘wet’. You can see what I mean in this article: https://www.resinobsession.com/resin-tutorials/seashell-resin-jewelry-and-magnets
