I recently used a mold for the first time to try to create a petri dish resin piece but the colours did not show through properly. I’m wondering if it’s possible to reuse this resin somehow. Can it be cut up and the pieces incorporated into a new piece? Can it be ground down and the powder used in a new piece? Thanks.
Yes, you can absolutely use your resin casting in a new casting. You can cut it up into pieces with something like a jeweler’s saw and include in your new casting.
You do not, however, want to grind down your resin pieces into dust. The dust can be unsafe to breathe and you want to be sure you don’t cause any health problems for yourself.
