I’ve noticed that my parrot has started to molt a lot more recently. It seems tied to the changing seasons, but I’m still handling it. My conure is leaving feathers everywhere! I’ve heard that molting is natural, but how do you know if it’s just an irregular seasonal change or if something is to ensure I’m giving my bird the right care? Does anyone have advice on how to help them through it?

Molting can be tricky to manage, especially when feathers seem everywhere! But as long as your parrot’s feathers grow back healthy, it’s usually just a normal process. Seasonal molting happens as the weather shifts, and giving your bird a good diet with plenty of vitamins can help. Regular baths or misting can also make them more comfortable. If you want more info about parrot species, especially macaws, and their care, I’ve found this site helpful. They even offer macaw for sale if you’re ever thinking about expanding your flock. My Amazon parrot molts twice a year, and while it can look a bit dramatic, it’s just a part of their cycle.

I’ve read that molting is important to their health. It’s kind of like how some animals shed their fur. It must be quite a sight to see them lose and regrow feathers! I’ve always been curious about how owners manage that phase, but it seems like a natural part of their yearly routine. Caring for pets during those times must be a learning experience!
