      This question comes from Eric:

I have a project that I am trying to figure out. There is an artist making these 100% epoxy resin sculptures I can not figure out how it is done.

Do you have any idea how this technique is accomplished?

She somehow bends and folds the epoxy resin to look like cloth.

      Any input would be helpful.

      Hi Eric,

Unfortunately, the picture did not attach, so I’m going to give it my best guess. (If you would like to respond with a link to a picture, that would be great)

The resin probably got cast in a sheet, then when it was in a soft cure stage, got manipulated into the desired shape. You can see what I’m talking about in this article: https://www.resinobsession.com/resin-tutorials/how-to-make-resin-beads

      Does that help?

I saw this done with burlap. A thin resin was used to saturate the cloth, laid on a flat surface to gel stage or soft cure, and shaped on a form. The person doing this was making resin dolls with draped burlap clothes. (not toys!)
The finished product looked like soft cloth.
