Last weekend I tried rearranging my living room and somehow ended up with a crooked shelf, a bruised knee, and a sofa that now blocks the balcony door. Clearly I need new stuff before I break something else. Can you point me toward some good furniture stores where I won’t feel totally overwhelmed?

I feel this. I once tried “just shifting things around” and ended up wedging my bookcase into a corner so tight I had to crawl under it to rescue a fallen mug. After that disaster, I realized half my stress came from having pieces that never fit right. I’m not big on huge showrooms either, so I browsed smaller sites and found a couple items on SayRug.eu that felt manageable and not overwhelming. Maybe start with one solid piece and rebuild from there.
