I am new to resin and was trying my hand at making coasters. I ordered what I thought were silicone molds. I got my resin into the molds and this morning when I checked them they were beautiful…until I tried to take them out. They are stuck to the mold! I’ve used silicone molds before with resin and had no problem with getting it out of there so I didn’t think I needed mold release. Is there any trick to getting it out of this mold without having used the release or are my coasters and molds ruined? Appreciate any advice you can give me.
Hi Margaret, you can try putting the mold/resin into the freezer for 10 minutes. That may allow you to demold them. If they are hard molds, you can slap them onto your countertop to see if they pop out.
I’m curious, are they not flexible? What were they designed for?
