I am casting a larger, thicker epoxy resin block with dried wedding florals inside. I intended to cast it in multiple layers to help with cure times and placement of the flowers (it will end up being more than an inch thick). I have read here that a key to pouring layers and avoiding visible seams is pouring the next layer when the one below is still tacky, no more than several hours out. I’d seen on other sites that some people have done a layer every 24 hours with success. I ran out of resin after my first layer, and I can’t get more until almost 48 hours out. Is this project ruined? I don’t want a visible seam, but I can’t pour more layers any sooner, and I can’t really sand the surface or anything Before pouring because the delicate dried flowers are sticking out still.
