I am having a very difficult and frustrating time trying to figure out how to use pressed flowers and 3 D flowers in resin. I’m trying to make wedding bouquets into resin art pieces and in practicing all I get is a million miniscule bubbles. I read somewhere that organic materials give off gasses and that you should seal them. I can understand using Mod Podge or spray on the pressed but how do I do the 3 dimensional ones? Videos show people just pouring resin directly on the flowers making sure they get in each petal and inside layer. Any tips or hints would be greatly appreciated

      Hi Judy,

Yes, sealing the flowers before using in resin is essential. I like to use a couple light layers of resin gloss sealer spray to do that, especially on my 3D flora and fauna. You can buy the spray in our store here: https://shop.resinobsession.com/products/castin-craft-gloss-resin-sealer-spray

It sounds like you are using a mold, yes? If so, it’s essential that you use a casting resin for a project like this. Thicker resins (known as doming resins) will trap microbubbles that won’t escape before the resin starts to cure.
