GuestI want to make a prop glass of wine. I have a plastic wine glass, and I need a transparent substance that I can tint a slight yellow so that it looks like white wine, pour it into the plastic glass, creating the look of a glass of wine without the concern of spilling. Is resin right for this? If so, what kind? I don’t need much, since I’m only making one prop, possibly a second as a backup. The glass only needs to be about a third of the way full. The substance I put into the glass will stay there. I don’t need or want it to come out. Thanks for your help!

KeymasterHi Kelly,
The super clear resin would work well for this. You can buy it in several sizes (including small sizes) here:

We have transparent colors for it as well.
The yellow will be what you want but you will hardly need any at all. Like maybe the amount on a pin head.

GuestHello Katherine,
So I did order the super clear resin that you recommended. The directions say to warm part A. How should I go about that? Do I warm it in the bottle somehow?
Thanks!

KeymasterHi Kelly, a warm water bath will do well. You can see an example of what I like to do in this video: (you can skip to 6:30)

GuestI’m doing something similar only with wine bottle art. I want to pour resin into a wine bottle that has been cut in half with a colored resin. What type of resin would I use and what colorants are best?
