I paint with acrylics and ink on metal jewelry (non porous) and for the final sealer I use resin, will this permanently protect the acrylic from peeling off? To keep Sharpie marker from running I first coat with a varnish, then the resin.

I have a wood plaque and people signed it with a sharpie. Can I resin over it without running the sharpie ink?

I would seal it first. I have done well with paint pens, but the alcohol in the sharpies tend to make them bleed.
