I’ve been casting urethane for about 3 months now, and I think I’m getting pretty good at it…except that there is always something new to learn. that’s why I signed up for this forum. one thing i really want to learn is how those surfboard manufacturers get those beautiful images on those foam boards. I heard they use rice paper. is it a special rice paper? can i use my home computer to print on it or what print companies print on rice paper? and what is the technique to pouring the resin on it? thanks.

HI Roger, I’m afraid I haven’t worked with rice papers in resin and don’t know if this will work for what you want to do.

Hi Roger,

I have used resin on rice paper and its pretty neat!
It stains like crazy if you don’t seal it, but this is what makes it interesting. Also it stains pretty evenly so becomes almost transparent.
