Hi, I am new to resin casting and am experimenting with the Shaved Ice additive in some Resin Obsession resin. It seems like the majority of it sinks to the bottom while the casting is curing.

Is there a trick to getting it to stay suspended?

Hi John, I’m afraid it isn’t unusual for the shaved ice to sink when included in resin. if you want it to stay in a particular spot, you are going to have to pour your resin in layers. You can see what I’m talking about here: https://www.resinobsession.com/resin-tutorials/button-bangle-resin-bracelet-tutorial In order to get the buttons to look suspended, the resin had to be poured in layers, with the buttons added to the second layer.
