I’m making a box out of old barn boards. First of all I’d like to know the smoothness level requirements for resin. Is 220 grit enough or is that still too rough? Next my plan is to use the resin between two board halves that split entirely. So if I clamp them together and pour the resin over the split line, will it bond the wood together. My intention is to add blue ink to the mix to add a little character. I’m still in the research phase of this project, but the wood is prepped for tong oil. My plan is to figure out the resin process by the time the warmer months of spring get too humid. Thank you.
