Hi, I am totally new to resin art and have so many questions:

My current dilemma: I am looking to do two types of resin art / casting. 1 – I want to coat certain objects with a artistic resin coating.

2: I want to cast what I call ‘resin tiles’ at approx 20mm thick 300mm x 150 mm tiles

My main question at the moment – do I need different epoxy materials for a coating resin vs a deeper cast resin ?

What a great question. Yes! For what you want to do, you will need two types of resin: a casting resin for your deep pours and a doming resin for artwork. These articles will explain the differences:
