In regard to my post, the molds were clean and dry and so was the mold release.  It was also well shaken before it was applies to the molds.

This question comes through email by Rhonda:

I used Castn Craft Mold Release on my molds before the first use. When it dried, there was a grainey film left in the molds.  Is this usual?  The film was left on the castings.  I was able to buff it off, but it was a nuisance. I have not used the mold release since and have had no problems.

      Rhonda,

My first question would be to ask if the mold release was dry.  You need to spray, then allow 20 to 30 minutes for the mold to be completely dry, otherwise that spray will mark up your castings.

Assuming it was dry and you still got marks, my next thought is that it came from your mold, not the mold release.
