Congrats on your new cat! The basics I’d recommend are: good quality food (wet and dry), two litter boxes, scratching post, some interactive toys, and a comfortable bed. Cats are pretty simple but they do need mental stimulation. I’d also suggest getting a carrier right away for vet visits

All good suggestions above. When I got my two kittens, I was overwhelmed by all the options. I found https://www.petbayaus.com.au/collections/all-cat-supplies which had starter kits that saved me some money. Their scratching posts are sturdy – my cats destroyed the cheap one I got first within weeks. Also consider getting a water fountain since many cats don’t drink enough from regular bowls
