This question comes through email by Jen:

I have been desperately trying to figure out how to create this look for my jewelry…

I have been using nail polish as an alternative to enamel paint and I would like to use acrylic paint as well on top of brass and other metals. However, I cannot seem to figure out how to finish them with the proper coating. I use mostly brass or aluminum flat blanks. The 3D crystal stuff I’ve used leaves it tacky after curing ( even though it is premixed) and it turned out awful over acrylic paint. I am just looking for a decently hard, thin clear coating!

Any advice would be awesome! Thanks so much!

      Hi Jen,

Have you tried going over your dried acrylic paint with a layer of a clear drying acrylic spray? You could use a doming resin as well, but that seems like a lot of work…
