GuestThe UK spouse visa allows married partners of British citizens or settled individuals to live in the UK. To successfully apply, it’s essential to meet specific UK spouse visa requirements outlined by immigration authorities. Here’s an overview:
1. Relationship Criteria: Applicants must prove their relationship is genuine and subsisting. This includes providing evidence like marriage certificates, photos, communication records, and shared responsibilities.
2. Financial Requirements: The sponsoring partner must demonstrate an annual income of at least £18,600 or have sufficient savings. The amount increases if dependent children are included.
3. English Language Proficiency: Applicants must pass an approved English language test or provide proof of education conducted in English.
4. Accommodation Proof: Evidence of adequate accommodation in the UK is necessary, ensuring it meets living standards for the applicant and their family.
5. Application Process: Prepare required documents, complete the online application form, and attend a biometric appointment.
The visa is initially granted for 2.5 years and can be extended. After five years, applicants may qualify for indefinite leave to remain (ILR).
Understanding these requirements ensures a smoother application process. Always verify the latest rules, as immigration policies are subject to change. For personalized guidance, consulting a qualified advisor is recommended.

GuestWhat exam do you need to take to confirm your language level and then apply for a visa or even residency? There are so many language exams now, and is it important to choose a specific one ?

GuestI always thought that should be specified. Maybe it’s worth asking at the consulate what exact exam is required to confirm your language level. I highly doubt that the same alcpt military test would work for residency, even though it’s an academic English test that checks skills like reading, listening, grammar and vocabulary.
