GuestWhen I first started boxing, everything seemed simple: you need a pair of gloves, some protective gear, maybe a helmet. I bought the first things I came across, without really thinking about how they fit or whether they matched my style. But after just a couple of training sessions, I realized that a “one-size-fits-all” approach doesn’t always work — some gear is comfortable, others rub or don’t protect well. I’d like to discuss: how do you choose your basic equipment, and what do you look at first?

GuestMy search for equipment led me to boxing gear.Initially,I focused on appearance and general acceptability. However, the very first training session revealed shortcomings: the gloves were too stiff, with minimal cushioning, and the protective gear was extremely uncomfortable. This prompted me to pause and conduct a careful analysis: what types of punches do I use, what is the intensity of my training, and what really matters softness, adjustability, or stability. Later, by prioritizing comfort and safety, I noticed a significant increase in training productivity, free from discomfort and unpleasant sensations.
