      This question comes from Brandon:

I’m looking to cast a half wood half resin table as an end table. I’m wondering if you recommend a product to use as a mold? I was considering using plexiglass to make a tabletop shape mold but wasnt sure how that would work if I use a resin release. Based off some smaller stuff Ive casted I was going to make a “box” shape and then put different pieces of wood in it and pour the cast resin over it to make the shape. Then sand and buffer/polish it hoping to get a sharp and clear final piece.

      Hi Brandon,

The plexiglass is what I would try first. I would spray the Petrolease mold release onto the box before pouring the resin:

Otherwise, the resin will stick to the plexiglass.

The rest of your procedure sounds like it will work fine.
