GuestGuys, tell me where anyone keeps their boat on Lake Travis? I just started getting into the subject, recently bought a boat and now I’m deciding where to park it permanently. I want good security, access to water, electricity and preferably Wi-Fi. It would be great if there was a store nearby with the basics – ice, drinks, food, etc. Plus, I’m interested in the community – I want not just a parking lot, but a place where there is movement, parties, communication. Can anyone recommend anything?

GuestHi! I was in similar situation a couple of years ago. I was looking for not just marina, but a place where you really want to come, and not just fill up and leave. In the end, I settled on Sandy Creek Yacht Club https://sandycreekyachtclub.com/ — and it turned out to be a perfect fit. Not only do they have comfortable and spacious slips (there are ones for both large yachts and small boats), but they also have a cool atmosphere. They have a store with essentials, fuel, showers, parking, and even discounts on gas for club members. The main thing is the community: people are very friendly, often organize parties, barbecues, and just chat. Plus — gorgeous views and proximity to parks. I really relax there, and don’t just leave a boat.

GuestI joined Sandy Creek not so long ago, but I already feel like part of the team. When I first arrived, I was immediately warmly received, shown around, and explained. It’s not just a parking lot — it’s like a small community, its own atmosphere. I especially like that you can safely leave your boat without worrying about safety, and at the same time come back on the weekend and have a mini-vacation. It’s very helpful to have Wi-Fi and electricity right on site, plus there’s a store nearby – I grabbed some ice, beer, snacks and headed out to the lake.
