would like to know if there is a special method that can be used in applying to a car body . Have an old car and would like to have some fun . Appreciate any help u can give cheers
A doming epoxy resin is what I would use for this project. We have several in our store here: https://shop.resinobsession.com/collections/resin/doming Doming resins will have great surface tension to want to stay on the surface of your car part. The problem is going to be that your surfaces are unlikely completely flat. The resin will want to run/drip off the side. You will have to rotate your item several times while the resin is still liquid to get it to stay on the surface. You can see what I’m talking about in this tutorial on applying resin to a tumbler: https://www.resinobsession.com/resin-tutorials/how-to-glitter-and-resin-a-tumbler
These parts should be for display purposes only. I don’t know how well they would hold up to ‘road elements’ exposure.
In terms of resin applications, doming means the process (or the resin itself if using as a way to describe it) where the surface tension of the resin is thick enough that it will want to stay on a flat surface without running over the sides.
