Hi Chuck,
I have never done this, but if I were going to, here’s how I would approach it.
1. After cooking the bacon, I would put it in a food dehydrator. The bacon needs to be as dry as possible. (I do wonder though if this would make it too brittle. You may need to experiment with this.)
2. After dehydrating it I would coat it with a couple of layers of our resin gloss sealer spray. https://shop.resinobsession.com/collections/tools-and-supplies/products/castin-craft-gloss-resin-sealer-spray
3. Once it was dry, I would dip it or coat it with a layer of resin and allow it to cure. This will make it easier to manipulate in a resin mold when you pour resin the next time. I’m afraid it may still break into pieces even with a coat of the gloss sealer spray. Coating it with resin will make it harder and easier to manage as one big piece.
Good luck!
