I’m wanting to try and epoxy resin cast some clear pyramids, but I’m nervous the silicone molds I’ve seen will cast a bit cloudy. Is this a valid concern ? Will using a releasing agent help create a clearer result ? I would prefer silicone over a metal mold.

Hi Stefano,
The surface of your resin castings are impacted by the surface of the resin mold. If a shiny template was used to make the mold, then the mold should product shiny castings. If you can, look at the surface of the mold before purchasing to see if it is shiny. If it is, you should get shiny castings. If you are unsure, ask before making purchase.

I totally would, but they are much smaller than what I’m looking for.
I do have a bunch of your other molds on my wish list, however 🙂
