      can you put a 2 layer on a painting without sanding the 1st layer

      Yes, but are you trying to hide a blemish or do you simply want a thicker coat?

        Yes, you can definitely do it without sanding the first layer. Before you do though, create a tape dam first (around the edge), otherwise you won’t get as deep a layer as the first pour.
