When I try to seal fabrics, they discolor as if they were wet, which is what I’m trying to prevent by sealing them! I have the same problem with thin papers, such as a decorative napkin. I’ve tried mod podge and I’ve also tried hairspray. Would a spray sealer work for this? Is there a better way?
Yes, you could try a spray sealer. I’m wondering if maybe you aren’t getting the edges coated enough and moisture is seeping in sideways. Have you tried the tape method? I show it in this video on the Resin Obsession youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86R7QBst4_o
Hmm. Don’t know on the tape. I have used clear packing tape without any problems, but I doubt it is acid free. Probably not a bad idea to use acid free tape. The spray sealer should work well. Have you had a chance to try that yet?
I would also suggest you touch base with Carmi Cimicata of the I Love Resin blog. She has a lot more experience with this than I do. In fact, she recently posted a video on using fabrics in resin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfzzekCn68o
