Using resin to prevent tarnish

      Hi, I was wondering if it would be possible to dip/coat an already made pendant in resin in order to protect it from tarnishing or to at least make it last longer? Do you think that would work?

      Hi Bianca,

      Yes, that could work, but I don’t know that it is the easiest way to do things. Are you referring to metal jewelry? If so, I would recommend using Renaissance Wax. (Available online at woodworking type stores) I use it for my metal and resin jewelry to retard tarnish. It’s a very smooth wax (less gritty as compared to car wax) and I was very happy with how it kept my silver from tarnishing. Apply the wax and buff it off with a very soft cloth. If you wash your pieces with soap, you will need to recoat with the wax.
