Yes, that could work, but I don’t know that it is the easiest way to do things. Are you referring to metal jewelry? If so, I would recommend using Renaissance Wax. (Available online at woodworking type stores) I use it for my metal and resin jewelry to retard tarnish. It’s a very smooth wax (less gritty as compared to car wax) and I was very happy with how it kept my silver from tarnishing. Apply the wax and buff it off with a very soft cloth. If you wash your pieces with soap, you will need to recoat with the wax.
