I have been casting resin pigs that come out with a cloudy finish due to the type of mold. Since they are an odd shape, I haven’t tried using polish and instead have been adding an outer coat of resin to bring out the clarity. My problem is that when I do a thin coat, my resin almost separates leaving splotches of clear and cloudy finish- meaning I have to do a second coat. But often after two coats, I then have a little pool of hardened resin stuck around the base of my pig and have to sand it down and re-glaze it yet again. Is there a better process?
