Hello all,
I’m looking to cast a piece of burnt/charred wood into resin, like the picture in this link:
my goal is to get this same silvery effect and minimum bubbles – some bubbles are cool but not too many that you can’t see the charred wood anymore.
is there something I can coat the wood in prior to casting that will seal the bubbles in? or is this even a problem?
also my wood block will be entirely burnt.

Hi Paola,
I would recommend a couple of light layer of our resin gloss sealer spray: https://shop.resinobsession.com/collections/tools-and-supplies/products/castin-craft-gloss-resin-sealer-spray That will keep the bubbles in and keep the carbon from mixing with the resin. Unfortunately, however, this product is only available to the continental U.S. You can try a clear-drying, acrylic based spray as an alternative.
