So I have recently began a obsession with butterfly wing jewelry. I want to start making some earrings for myself and being new to the whole resin thing I am not sure of how to go about it properly. I did read the tutorial about laminating the wing first which I will do but I want my earring to look like the one pictured in this link below. That is where I get lost, do I need to make a mold to achieve the even coat on the front and back or is there a method to this. Please help me figure out how to do this properly. Oh and for all you our there that are going to start attacking me for using butterfly wings they are all purchased from butterfly farms that collect them after their full life cycle so please no comments on that. Thanks!

Hi Molly,
Assuming you are going to laminate the wings, make the lamination border a little bigger than the wing. You can then use a doming resin without needing to use a mold. We sell several doming resins that would work for this project.
